Flail damage from the hedge cutter! Very good camouflage, sitting in the north side of the hedge. Parked on Church Lane and enjoyed a stroll up the track towards the mast. Beautiful spring green colours, blossom in the trees, hedges coming into leaf and birds twittering and singing away. Easy bag with cracking views - best of the 4 today!

(1458) Parked up down North Farm Court and then walked the public path to the pillar. As others have stated the map doesnt seem to tally with the actual route - but if you head towards the two masts and wind turbines you cant go wrong. Spotted a CBM on a old stone gatepost on the way down. Pillar situated just off the footpath but easily accessed. Hedge, and everything else, is becoming a bit wild, but the pillar isn't really obscured. Looks to be some old damage - most likely from hedge cutting - but all good really. A nice steady walk to and from this one. Pillar history: Built on the 5th of September 1947, at a cost of £4 9s 11d. Last maintained by the OS in June of 1985.

I then walked W back down the B6067 and took the FP opposite the equestrian centre. This ran N through arable fields. The pillar is at the top of the hill and I headed for the smaller mast. Not having a map I perhaps strayed from the ROW and followed a well worn track up the hill. The pillar is sited in a hedgerow facing N towards the turbines. Lovely views of South Yorkshire and the peak district in the distance. Slight damage to one corner of pillar as previously mentioned possibly a hedge trimmer. OS cap intact.
