Not one of my favourite pillars. Not only is it deep in a thorny hedge behind a wire fence, but accessing it from the bracket side is a total pain. An extremely rusty gate surrounded by chest-high nettles needs to be negotiated, and said gate has lots of protruding wires which could easily cause injury if you slip whilst scaling it. And this trigpointer is sufficiently obese that the gate will not take my weight. It's a miracle I got away unscathed. Unless you're desperate to see the flush bracket, or can find an alternative way into the field, I would suggest bagging this from the left (south) side!

Parked at double gates and walked up the left hand side of hedge, F.B Is best viewed from the northside took the wrong side, Not easy to cross now hedge is well established. Just got back to car taking off wellies when farmer turned up. He asked if he could help and had I just been in his fields, when I explained that I had just been to take photos of trig. He was fine, just said he'd had problems with hare coursing and theft.

Easy roadside parking 160m to SE on A361. Pillar is on S side of wire field boundary but can be accessed from either side due to immature hedgerow (FB faces N). Thorn is starting to obscure pillar - no gardening tools with me so left as I found it. Pillar in good condition with plinth exposed on S side; original cap in place, deeply indented lettering; 1 sight hole open. Good views to be had N and S, but only from respective sides of hedgerow.

Wrong side of hedge on first try but luckily there is a low bit of fence that can be easily climbed over just a few yards from the trig. The FB faces north....

Easy walk up from gate, make sure you go up the correct side of the hedge (right hand side) - Pillar good condition located in hedge next to fence.

Messed up map skills and looked in hedge to the NE for 10 minutes! Once realised error easy find with ok parking ,pretty good views .

We parked opposite two gates which go up either side of the hedgeline the trig is in. Take the gate to the left which is into an arable field (the other is a sheepy field) and the trig is a couple of hundred yards in. FB faces North-East, plug with heavily indented lettering.

To be honest the name of this trig is more exciting than its location. It is in a hedge about 150 meters in from the road. My old OS map has it marked as being on a track but in reality it is just a hedge line.
