Had lived in nearby Bridford for 25 years and hadnt known of this FBM being here, but that's another story! Decided to drive via Bridford on my way home from a day out and about Chagford, to hopefully be able to spot this. This was the easiest FBM find I have done - in the last few months the overgrown field gate has changed to the access gate to where a house is being built, and thankfully the new wall has been built just behind the FBM for all to see and admire!

Struggled to locate this as expecting the usual playpen. Android app on my phone came to rescue, or rather the previous loggers directions. Found it ok, but needed to be dug out... again. Height tag still in place.

Knocked down where I thought it should be, couldnt see it and then spent 20 mins looking further away from the gate and also from the field side. Went back to where I started and there it was ! Partially buried so no obvious granite pillar to see. Very good find by The Hungry Caterpillars.

Took some finding. Totally overgrown again, and deep in the undergrowth/hedgerow. Nice example complete with height tag.

vgc, back of N verge at base of hedge, 2.5m back from road edge, 1.5m W of gate. Fairly easy to spot in March (so last years pruning not wasted). Height tag 843.14ft. Usual OSMB and GPS plaques.

Pruned back the brambles and searched N verge W of gate, no sign of FBM. My sixth "Couldn't find" of the weekend :-(
