Via the sprawling Paddock workshop yard from Minor road on east side. Disappointed to find no gates from either fields into upper trig field, so had to gingerly get over a barbie... Large flock of sheep scattered en mass as I approached then viewed me from afar.

Paid a return visit now the pipeline people have finished ,actually found better access from road junction to the NW ,then diagonally across fields to the pillar ..which has escaped destruction by about 30 ft. The pipeline is fenced off ,and already becoming harder to spot from a distance than it was only a couple of months ago.

The fenced off Pipeline is obvious just beyond the pillar.©Glaslyn

This one's all intact with the original plug. Quite a lot of paint remaining. The NW face hole is concreted but the NE/SW is see-through. There is some erosion to the base of the pillar and the concrete base is about 4" projecting from the earth. Great views to the west but somewhat restricted by trees in other directions especially south. The pillar isn't actually on the hill summit - that's a little way to the NE.
