OS Sketch Diagrams
Each OSGB36 trig station had its own Office File which usually included a sketch showing the position of the mark in relation to nearby reference points; where there were no suitable reference points from which to measure, a text description of the location was included therein. The sketches were particularly important for relocating Buried blocks. Unlike Passive stations, the OSGB36 sketches were not published online by the OS, and in 2012 the paper copies were transferred to The National Archives at Kew.
